These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the University of Eldoret websites, systems, and online services available under the domain uoeld.ac.ke and all its subdomains (“the Websites”). By accessing or using these Websites, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Websites.

1. About the University

The Websites are owned and operated by the University of Eldoret, a public university established under the laws of Kenya (“the University”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

2. Scope of Use

These Terms apply to:

  • https://uoeld.ac.ke
  • All official subdomains and systems including student portals, staff portals, learning management systems, application systems, and event websites
  • Any online service provided under the University of Eldoret domain

3. Acceptable Use

By using the Websites, you agree to:

  • Use the Websites only for lawful purposes
  • Not interfere with or disrupt system operations
  • Not attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Not upload or transmit malicious software
  • Not misuse University communication platforms

Unauthorized use may result in suspension of access and legal action.

Some services require login credentials. Users agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Keep login credentials confidential
  • Notify the University immediately of unauthorized account use

Users are responsible for all activities conducted under their accounts.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Websites, including text, graphics, logos, documents, software, and design elements, is the property of the University of Eldoret or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Content may be viewed, downloaded, or printed for personal or academic use only. Commercial use or redistribution without written permission is prohibited.

Use of the Websites is also governed by the University’s Privacy Policy. By using the Websites, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

7. External Links

The Websites may contain links to third-party websites. The University is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of external sites.

8. Service Availability

The University does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Websites and may suspend services for maintenance or upgrades without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

The University shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the Websites, including data loss, service interruptions, or unauthorized access.

10. Termination of Access

The University reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or misuse University systems.

11. Changes to the Terms

The University may revise these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, including the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
